Signal jammer is a radio interference signal generator. The range of action changes, and the number of jamming frequencies differ. The jammer can be equipped with antennas to block devices working on different frequencies, such as mobile phones, wifi, and GPS systems. The all-in-one signal jammers can block most of them at one signal device. Some signal jammers, like drone jammers, can usually block drone and GPS signals because they are designed for drone blocking only.

Jammers may operate according to one of the principles listed below:

  • A signal is sent to the phone or spy equipment to disable the equipment temporarily.
  • An electromagnetic shield is created that does not allow the passage of either incoming or outgoing signals.
  • Creating white noise radio waves. It lacks any information component. The main task is to dissolve the signals and messages transmitted by mobile phones and tracking equipment. The differences relate to the frequencies at which jammers operate.

The device consists of 3 main parts:

  • Controlled generator. It helps the signal jammer set up the connection with the equipment that needs to be blocked.
  • Scheme. It can be open-loop or closed-loop. With its help, the operating frequency is adjustable;
  • Antennas for signal propagation.

If the power of the signal jammer is not enough for a large room, it can be increased by connecting an amplification unit. But it is important to remember that this significantly reduces battery life.

Many people prefer to build signal jammers on their own. But such devices are often designed to work only at specified frequencies. That means the frequencies are not adjustable.

In rare cases, some user of the cell phone jammer finds that the phones continue to ring, wifi and GPS function as if nothing had happened. This means that the cellular operator operates using non-standard frequencies. The problem is quite easy to solve by adjusting the settings. Most manufacturers allow this.

The range increases to 40 meters, including in open space. With the help of such equipment, you can ensure silence and confidentiality during a meeting, a meeting with partners, a performance, or another public event. The antennas will block CDMA, GSM, DCS, PHS, PCS, 3G (WCDMA), wifi, 4G LTE, and 5G signals.

Fact check about frequencies:

3G and 4G frequencies are widely used in today’s telecommunication. If it is necessary to ensure silence during the meeting, to force employees to be distracted from messengers, the cell phone jammer must support the frequencies 2110-2170, 2320-2690 MHz;

If you fear that a hidden camera or a bug is installed in the room, with a signal jammer covering the frequencies of 900, 1900, and 2100 MHz, you can catch and kill them all. In this case, there will be a guarantee that the GSM cameras will be useless, and the one who installed them will no longer receive any information;

Wifi (2400-2500 MHz). Most routers operate at these frequencies. Turn on the wifi jammer, and wireless keyboards and mice will become only a decor items. You won’t be able to use them; no one will be able to transfer information to third parties using a desktop PC;
