The use of signal jammers in Cuba

Laws and Regulations Regarding Signal Jammers

In Cuba, the use of signal jammers is illegal. Law No. 107 of 2013 on telecommunications, which came into effect on January 29, 2013, explicitly prohibits the use of signal jammers. Article 204 of the law states that "the use, sale, possession, and distribution of any type of signal jamming equipment or device is prohibited on national territory."

Regulatory Bodies

The regulatory body for telecommunications in Cuba is the Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba S.A. (ETECSA), which is a state-owned company that provides telecommunications services throughout the country. ETECSA is responsible for enforcing telecommunications laws and regulations, including the ban on the use of signal jammers.

Legal Authorization

It is not possible to obtain legal authorization to use a signal jammer in Cuba. Anyone found in possession of a signal jammer is liable to criminal prosecution. Offenders face a fine or imprisonment for up to three years.
