The legal issue of signal jammers in Slovakia

Laws and Regulations

In Slovakia, the use of signal jammers is strictly prohibited. Law No. 351/2011 on electronic communications prohibits the manufacturing, sale, import, export, possession, and use of signal jammers. The law specifies that anyone who violates these provisions can be fined up to 50,000 euros or sentenced to imprisonment for up to five years.

Regulatory Bodies

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TU SR) is the government agency responsible for regulating telecommunications and information technology in Slovakia. This agency is responsible for monitoring the use of radio frequencies and ensuring their legal and safe use. It is also responsible for enforcing the law on electronic communications.

Legal Authorization for the Use of Signal Jammers

In Slovakia, it is not possible to obtain legal authorization to use a signal jammer. However, there are exceptions for certain government agencies, such as law enforcement and security services, who may use signal jammers in the course of their lawful duties.
