Laws and regulations regarding signal jammers

In North Macedonia, signal jammers are prohibited according to the law on electronic communications. According to this law, it is forbidden to manufacture, sell, import, distribute, install, possess, or use a signal jammer. This law came into effect in 2014.

The use of signal jammers is regulated by the Agency for Electronic Communications of North Macedonia (AEK), which is the regulatory body for telecommunications. The AEK is responsible for enforcing the law on electronic communications, including provisions regarding the use of signal jammers.

Legal authorization for the use of signal jammers

In North Macedonia, the use of signal jammers is illegal, and no legal authorization is granted for their use. The only authorized entities to use signal jammers are law enforcement and security services, who may use them in special operations with prior authorization from the AEK.
