Laws and regulations governing the use of signal jammers in Tanzania are primarily established by the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA), established in 2003 under the Electronic Communications Act of 2010. This law states that the use of any disruptive telecommunications equipment is illegal unless authorized by the TCRA. The TCRA is the regulatory body responsible for issuing permits for the use of signal jammers in Tanzania. To obtain authorization, applicants must provide compelling justification for the use of the signal jammer, as well as evidence of compliance with regulations and safety standards. Effective Date

The Electronic Communications Act of 2010 came into effect on November 5, 2010, in Tanzania. Since then, the use of signal jammers has been strictly regulated and controlled by the TCRA.
