Laws and Regulations Regarding Signal Jammers in the Netherlands

The use of signal jammers is illegal in the Netherlands. Under Article 45 of the Dutch Telecommunications Act of 2018, it is prohibited to disrupt radio frequencies without authorization. Additionally, Article 10 of the Radiocommunications Act of 2008 also prohibits the use of signal jammers. Signal jammers are also prohibited in the European Union, in accordance with Directive 2014/53/EU on radio equipment.

Regulatory Bodies

The regulatory bodies that govern the use of signal jammers in the Netherlands are the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) and the National Agency for Radio Frequencies (ANFR). The ACM is responsible for ensuring compliance with telecommunications rules, while the ANFR is responsible for the allocation of radio frequencies.

Obtaining Legal Authorization to Use a Signal Jammer

It is not possible to obtain legal authorization to use a signal jammer in the Netherlands. The only exceptions to this rule are law enforcement and intelligence services, which may use signal jammers for reasons of national security. However, these authorities must also obtain special authorization before using such devices.
