Regulation of Signal Jammers in Uzbekistan

Regulation of Signal Jammers in Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan, the use of signal jammers is strictly regulated by law. The Law on Electronic Communications and Information Technologies, adopted in 2018, regulates the use of signal jammers in the country. According to this law, only government agencies and authorized organizations are allowed to use signal jammers. Anyone using a signal jammer without authorization may be subject to a fine or imprisonment.

Effective Date of the Law and Regulatory Body

The Law on Electronic Communications and Information Technologies came into effect in Uzbekistan on January 1, 2019. This law established the State Agency for the Management of Information Technologies and Communications as the regulatory body responsible for managing radio frequencies and regulating the use of signal jammers in the country.

Obtaining Legal Authorization to Use a Signal Jammer in Uzbekistan

To obtain legal authorization to use a signal jammer in Uzbekistan, a request must be submitted to the State Agency for the Management of Information Technologies and Communications. This request should provide details about the intended use of the signal jammer, as well as information about the entity that will be using it.

The State Agency for the Management of Information Technologies and Communications will review the request and determine if the use of the signal jammer is necessary and justified. If the request is approved, the Agency will issue a legal authorization for the use of the signal jammer.
