The ARPT is the regulatory body that oversees the use of signal jammers in Mauritania. According to Article 97 of the law, anyone who wishes to use a signal jammer must obtain prior authorization from the ARPT. The authorization is granted if the use of the jammer is considered to be in the public interest.

Effective Date

Law No. 2014-025 of June 12, 2014, on telecommunications came into effect on the day of its publication in the Official Journal of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, which was June 22, 2014. Since that date, all individuals or organizations wishing to use a signal jammer must comply with this law.

Obtaining Legal Authorization to Use a Signal Jammer

To obtain legal authorization to use a signal jammer in Mauritania, it is necessary to follow the following steps:

1. Submit a written application to the ARPT, explaining the reasons for using the signal jammer.
2. Provide all technical details of the signal jammer, such as frequency range, output power, etc.
3. Prove that the use of the signal jammer is in the public interest.
4. Pay the registration and authorization issuance fees.
