Laws and Regulations on the Use of Signal Jammers in Turkmenistan

Laws and Regulations on Signal Jammers

In Turkmenistan, the use of signal jammers is strictly regulated. According to the Electronic Communications Law adopted in 2014, the use of signal jammers without authorization is illegal and can result in criminal penalties. The law also specifies that only authorized government agencies are permitted to use signal jammers.

Authorization for the Use of Signal Jammers

The State Committee for Information Technology and Communications, which is the regulatory body for electronic communications in Turkmenistan, is responsible for issuing authorizations for the use of signal jammers. Authorization requests must be submitted in advance and must include detailed information about the type of signal jammer, the frequencies to be jammed, the intended duration of use, and the reasons why the use of the signal jammer is necessary.

Effective Date

The Electronic Communications Law governing the use of signal jammers came into effect in 2014. Since then, the use of signal jammers without authorization has been illegal and can result in criminal penalties.
